Tori is a flutist, performer, and educator from the south side of Chicago. Her musical journey started at the age of 10, where she picked up the flute. Throughout the years, she has gained experience on multiple instruments, but specifically fell in love with flute, piano, and guitar. Tori studied at Elmhurst University, earning her bachelor’s degree in music performance with a primary focus on the flute. She now spends her time as a freelance musician where she plays for churches, schools, weddings, private events, etc. While she is partial to classical music, Tori loves and is experienced in all genres. She has played in musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Chicago, and Seussical, as well as multiple jazz ensembles, orchestras, wind ensembles, and is currently playing with the Moraine Valley Flute Choir. Tori also has a wide variety of teaching experience. She spends a lot of her time teaching privately to all ages and ability levels, as well as offering master classes to her local high school and middle schools. She believes that learning to read and play music is for everyone! Her favorite part about teaching is seeing the excitement from their students as they begin to learn what they are capable of as a musician. Tori is determined to make each student’s musical journey fun, encouraging, and rewarding.
“My favorite concert I’ve ever been to was La La Land in concert with the Chicago Philharmonic.La La Land is one of my favorite movies and seeing Justin Hurwitz direct the Chicago Phil was extra special!"
