Lauren is an educator and vocalist based in the Chicago suburbs. She grew up in Palatine, IL and holds a degree in Music Education from Elmhurst University. Additionally, she anticipates graduating in the summer of 2026 with a Masters in Educational Leadership from North Central College. Lauren believes in using music as a tool to foster students' own creativity, identity, and leadership.
Lauren teaches choir at Naperville Central High School where she co-directs four curricular choirs, two vocal jazz ensembles, and an a cappella group. She believes strongly that good vocal technique is universal and can be applied to any style—from choral and classical to musical theatre, jazz, and pop. A piano player for 15 years, she credits her instrumental foundation as a cornerstone of her musicianship and is excited to pass that passion on to her private students. Since beginning her career with a private studio at Shepard High School, Lauren has expanded her reach to students of all ages across the Northwest and Western Suburbs, teaching Kindergarteners through Seniors in High School. Lauren enjoys fostering a love of music for students regardless of their previous experiences or ability.
In a lesson with Lauren, students can expect to laugh, enjoy the process, and be challenged. She encourages her students to try new things and be creative as they discover what works best for their unique voice. Her passion for vocal pedagogy and health is present in every lesson, and she prides herself on meeting students exactly where they are to help them grow as both musicians and humans.
Committed to lifelong learning, Lauren is currently training through the Estill Voice Institute. Outside of the studio, she is a runner who enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and baking. She loves spending time with her fiancé, family, and friends. She is thrilled to work in a studio that values the development of the whole student.
"It’s hard to choose just one music teacher who has inspired me most, as three specific mentors shaped the teacher I am today. My high school choir teacher, Mrs. Collins, showed me that it’s never too late to learn a new skill, like sight-reading, and that everyone deserves to make music regardless of their starting point. In college, Professor Mather helped me find my authentic vocal sound by building my confidence and teaching me to embrace the 'vulnerability' of performing. Finally, Professor Catt inspired me to bring creativity and humanity into the classroom, focusing on healthy vocal technique and deep purpose. I strive to embody their nurturing and persistent spirits in every lesson. My goal is to give my students that same sense of belonging and growth that my teachers gave to me."
