Julie Perez is a musician and educator based in the Chicago suburbs. She is a graduate of Elmhurst University, holding a degree in Music Education. During her time at Elmhurst she performed in several ensembles such as the Wind Ensemble, Philharmonic Orchestra, brass quintet, and several other chamber ensembles. Julie spent her college summers touring and performing with Drum Corps International organizations as a performer, soloist, and conductor. Julie is currently a teacher in Libertyville School District 70. In this position she teaches kindergarten through fifth grade general music, beginning and intermediate band, and chorus. She has a student-centered teaching approach built on relationships. Julie strives to help students increase their understanding of musical concepts, learn to appreciate music, develop everyday skills, and achieve their goals!
