From an early age, music and teaching have always been Jess' passion. She holds her Illinois State Licensure in K-12 Music Education and has been private teaching since 2016. With degrees in Music Education as well as Sociology and English, Jess uses her knowledge of music theory, educational philosophy, and social development to shape her curricula to meet the unique needs of each student.
Along with teaching, Jess is also the Assistant Music Director at the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, where she is a leader in music ministry, directs the choir, and is a featured soloist during services. She also performs throughout the Chicagoland area and enjoys writing her own music as well.
As the Group Program Coordinator, Jess creates fun, hands-on learning experiences for a variety of age groups and ability levels. Whether she's teaching piano in assisted living facilities or singing with pre-k students at a local library, Jess strives to create a safe space for all to learn and grow in their musical abilities.
In all she does, Jess' goal is "to help every student discover their own talents and grow in their confidence not only as a musician, but as a person.”
"Kelli O'Hara is the musician that has inspired me the most, because of her beautiful, rich voice and her ability to crossover from opera to musical theatre and beyond!"
